Serie A: Milan win first Scudetto after 11 years

AC Milan have thrashed Sassuolo to clinch the Serie A title on Sunday, May 22.

It was a season-long battle among the top four, Milan, Inter, Napoli, and Juventus as they all shuffled places through the season.

The battle scaled in favour of the city rivals, Milan and Inter towards the end of the season as the last match of the season was the decider for the Serie A title.

Milan had just two points lead over Inter and would have ceded the title to Inter with a loss away to Sassuolo.

The Rossoneris however made the match a home game as they cruised to a victory and ended the game in the first half.

All three goals were scored in the first half as French forward, Olivier Giroud scored a brace to give the visitors a comfortable lead.

Barcelona-bound Frank Kessie sealed the win in the 36th minute with Rafael Leao assisting all three goals.
