Security operative accidentally gun down 17-year-old school girl while chasing Yahoo boys

Tension rose in the streets of Ogun State when a security operative allegedly gunned down a school girl while hunting down internet fraudsters.

On Thursday, July 21, an SS2 student of Unity High School in Ago Ika area of Abeokuta, identified as Sadiat met an untimely death after she was allegedly shot dead by security personnel attached to the State Special Security outfits, OP MESA, who was chasing suspected internet fraudsters AKA ‘Yahoo boys’.

17-year-old Sadiat, who happened to be the only child of her parents, was shot dead while she and the rest of her colleagues were walking out of the school premises.

As reported by Daily Trust, a bullet fired by the security operatives while chasing the suspected internet fraudsters mistakenly hit the girl in the head.

The girl was then confirmed dead after being rushed to the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.

Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident but added that he was not aware of the death of any student.
