Scottish Legend slams Sadio Mane‘s Decision to leave Liverpool
I find the decision very strange, Scottish football legend, Ally McCoist says regarding Sadio Mane’s move to Bayern Munich from Liverpool.
The former Liverpool star was earlier today pictured arriving for his medical at the German club, but that decision hasn’t quite gone well for some people.
And now, football analyst and Scotland legend, Ally McCoist when asked about his opinion on the move, finds it very strange.
McCoist says he finds Mane’s decision strange, which would have been easier to understand if the club the Senegalese was leaving for was the Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Mane’s move to Bayern would reportedly German giants a fee of £35.1 million which could rise further if add-ons are met.
Speaking with talkSport, McCoist said:
“Is it because he wants to play in another country? Possibly. Is he going to a better league? No. Is he going to a more competitive league? No. Is he going to a better team? No. I find it very strange.”
He added:
“The only thing I can see is the lure, the size of the club, Bayern Munich, is that something he’s always wanted to do? I could actually understand it more if it had been Real Madrid or Barcelona. I could understand that a little bit more, because of maybe the lure of one of those clubs, particularly Real Madrid.”
It remains to be seen how the move would end up going for the 3 parties involved.
But that being said, majority of the Liverpool fans are appreciative of the Senegalese’s efforts for the club, with many wishing him well.
