Saudi Arabia announces bid to host World Cup in 2034

West Asia country, Saudi Arabia has made an announcement that they wish to host the 2034 World Cup.

In a statement released on Wednesday from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, in bid of their inspiration in the social and economic transformation in the country, and their passion for football, they have plans to host the World Cup after 11 years i.e 2034

The bid, in a statement released by the federation, says “intends to deliver a world-class tournament and will draw inspiration from Saudi Arabia’s ongoing social and economic transformation and the country’s deep-rooted passion for football”,

TopNaija understands that this statement comes after neighboring country Qatar hosted the first World Cup in the Middle East, where the Saudi national team achieved a remarkable victory over the eventual winners, Argentina

The Saudi announcement came an hour after world football’s governing body FIFA released a statement giving its plans for the 2030 World Cup and inviting countries in the Asian Football Confederation to bid for 2034.
