Samuel Chukwueze speaks on potential Arsenal summer move
Villarreal winger, Samuel Chukwueze, has addressed the speculation surrounding his potential move to Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Aston Villa, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Reports had emerged that the Nigerian international was being targeted by Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta to provide competition for forward Bukayo Saka. Meanwhile, Chukwueze is also being linked with a move to reunite with his former manager, Unai Emery, at Aston Villa.
In response to the rumors, Chukwueze emphasized that he remains focused on his current club, Villarreal, and his priority is to help the team secure a Champions League or Europa League spot.
The 23-year-old winger told Elegbete TV Sports, “For now, I’m a Villarreal player, and my focus this season is to do well and put them in a good position for Champions League and Europa League spots, for me to have a good name before I leave the club.”
Chukwueze also acknowledged the possibility of a move in the future, but he maintained that his current focus is on his performances with Villarreal.
He added, “For now, I’m just focused on Villarreal. Any rumor that you are listening to now, maybe in the future, it will happen, but for now, I am a Villarreal player.”
Chukwueze has been an instrumental player for Villarreal since his debut in 2018. He has made over 100 appearances for the club and has played a crucial role in their success, including their recent Europa League triumph last season. As a result, he has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including those in the Premier League.
Chukwueze’s versatility and attacking flair have made him a sought-after player in the transfer market. With Arsenal and Aston Villa reportedly interested in signing him, it remains to be seen whether Samuel Chukwueze will make a move to the Premier League in the future.
For now, however, the winger is committed to his current club and focused on helping them achieve their goals.
