Ryan Coogler to write, direct sequel to #BlackPanther

Veteran storyteller, Ryan Coogler will write and direct the sequel for the record-breaking Black Panther movie.

Coogler helmed the first instalment which grossed over $1.3 billion in the US alone.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the filmmaker has sealed a deal to work on the sequel.

Black Panther, built around a fictional African country, featured Chadwick Boseman, Micheal B Jordan, and Lupita Nyong’o.

Coogler is said to have been presented the opportunity to sign the sequel deal shortly after the release of the movie in February but he chose to take his time before committing.

According to the report, production of the movie will begin in “either late 2019 or early 2020”.
