Ruth Kadiri marks 34 years in grand style after being shunned by Sanwo Olu twice

Nigerian actress Ruth Kadiri seems unbothered from going all out for her birthday as she clocks 34 years today, March 24, 2022.

As TopNaija reports, the mother of one is not letting the fact that she was ignored for the second time from a state recognition for her colleagues, stop her from celebrating her birthday in Grand style.

TopNaija recalls that Ruth Kadiri was ignored during a prestigious award ceremony for female Nollywood stars in 2021, organized by the Lagos State government and Mo’ Abudu.

In regards to that, Ruth Kadiri took to her official Instagram page to express her displeasure to the organizers of the awards for not finding her worthy and deserving.

According to her, despite being overlooked, she would not stop working hard and giving her all.

In her words; “I am a filmmaker. I am a woman. I am a hard-working woman. I have faced the struggles every woman/filmmaker has faced. Did my name at any point pop up yes, but because i do not belong to a click? Yet again, i have been overlooked will not be pressured. I will keep working hard. @lagosstategovt @moabudu @ijayonah @nifsummit thanks for overlooking me and congrats to everyone who got recognized.”

In celebration of her birthday, the mother of one teased fans with a beautiful photo from her birthday shoot on Instagram, Ruth Kadiri wrote “I publicly declare my gratitude to you dear lord. All my earthly prayers you have answered. I can’t say much but I am great-full. For helping me make all the right decisions in life. Happy birthday to me. love Ruth kadiri Ezerika.”

It was reported that also this month, March 2022, she was yet again ignored by the Lagos state governor Sanwo Olu when women in different fields were awarded for the International women’s day event.

Some Nollywood stars, from the likes of Adunni Ade, Adebimpe Oyebade, and Toyin Abraham, Mo Abudu, were some of those that got the award.

The recognition award was to honour 100 EKO women for their trailblazing works, making it an inspiration to young girls, including women, and to work towards building a greater Lagos.
