Ruben Amorim ready to sell 2 Manchester United stars
The honeymoon period for Ruben Amorim at Manchester United is well and truly over.
After a rocky start to his reign, the Portuguese manager is wasting no time in making bold decisions to reshape his underperforming squad—and Christian Eriksen and Antony are reportedly at the top of his January clear-out list.
Hopes were sky-high when Amorim, known for his tactical brilliance at Sporting CP, replaced Erik ten Hag last month. But inconsistent performances, including a 3-2 home loss to Nottingham Forest, have forced the new boss to confront the harsh realities of life at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim has publicly taken responsibility for the team’s struggles, but behind the scenes, he is reportedly ready to wield the axe.

According to GiveMeSport, the manager has deemed Eriksen, 32, and Antony, 24, surplus to requirements as he looks to free up funds for reinforcements.
Eriksen, whose contract expires next summer, has been largely sidelined since Amorim’s arrival, making just one appearance under the new regime. Antony, United’s £86 million marquee signing, has failed to justify his price tag this season, with only seven appearances in all competitions.
The duo’s combined weekly wages of £350,000 are a significant drain on the club’s finances, and their potential departures could ease the burden on United’s wage bill. More importantly, selling them would allow Ruben Amorim to bring in fresh talent to salvage what has been a dismal season so far.
