Ruben Amorim eyes bold reunion at Manchester United
Ruben Amorim‘s Manchester United reign has started with a bang, as the Portuguese manager wastes no time in reshaping the struggling Red Devils.
With his first Premier League game against Ipswich Town looming, Amorim has already made headlines by targeting a familiar face to bolster his defense—Ivory Coast international Ousmane Diomande.
The 20-year-old Centre-back, who blossomed under Amorim at Sporting Lisbon, is reportedly warming up to the idea of a reunion at Old Trafford. Initially hesitant, Diomande seems to have been swayed by personal talks with Amorim, which reportedly tipped the scales in United’s favor.
However, Manchester United isn’t the only club salivating over the young defender’s talent. Manchester City have made Diomande a “priority” target, ensuring a fiery transfer battle between the two Premier League giants. City’s incoming director of football, Hugo Viana—ironically also from Sporting—might complicate United’s pursuit.
