Ronaldo would flop at Chelsea—Premier League legend begs

Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t fit Chelsea, it is quite the headline that a lot of Chelsea supporters and the Portuguese’s fan base wouldn’t want to read on the news.

But here it is, former premier league star, Alan Hutton has called on it with a lot of points backing his reasons of why the 5 time golden ball winner would be a flop.

The former player while speaking on the speculated transfer, begged the new owner of the Blues, Todd Boehly not to be pressured into signing the Manchester United hero from the club.

Hutton believes Ronaldo would end up eventually as a Romelu Lukaku who ended up not fitting into Thomas Tuchel’s tactics at the club.

He also stressed how strange it was for the Portugal captain to be donning the blue of Chelsea and facing against Manchester United.

The link with Chelsea came after the player’s agent was spotted with Boehly while having a chat about the former Juventus man.

Hutton said to Football Insider:

“Getting that big name through the door, you have just taken control. I think he thinks that will look good.

“Can Ronaldo go in there and do a job? Of course, he can. We saw it last year with Manchester United, so I think he can. Is it a player Thomas Tuchel would want? I’m not so sure. Does he fit his philosophy? I don’t think so,”

He also went on to add:

“You look at (Romelu) Lukaku; he’s been shipped out quick enough. He’s a striker; he scores goals, but he doesn’t play the way the manager wants.

“He’s not going to run about; he’s not going to close down; Ronaldo’s not going to do that. But I think it would be funny to see him in a Chelsea strip. With everything that’s gone on in the past, I think it would be strange, but I would like to see it, I think.” Hutton said.
