Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has revealed that goalkeeper,Carl Ikeme will take the traditional kick-off before Nigeria’s final World Cup 2018 friendly game against England.

Rohr stated this while speaking on a BBC World Service programme.

It will be the first time Ikeme will return to the national team fold, since he was diagnosed with Luekaemia just before the start of pre-season training with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

His absence has left Rohr with few options between the sticks. After using Daniel Akpeyi for a while, the German has now settled for Ikechukwu Ezenwa as first choice.

Despite the performances of the duo, Nigerians are still sceptical of their abilities, with many clamouring for Deportivo La Coruna B goalkeeper, Francis Odinaka Uzoho to man the post at the 2018 World Cup.

Rohr has already ruled out former number one, Vincent Enyeama, from the tournament in Russia.
