Former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has led a group of people to protest against President Muhammadu Buhari’s medical trip to the UK.

The protest is taking place in front of Abuja House, London. Omokri, in a series of tweets on Friday, said the protesters were at the Abuja House to harass Buhari out of London.

He lamented the inadequacies of Nigeria’s health sector and also criticised the president over the Lekki shooting during the #EndSARS protest in Lagos. He also criticised Buhari over the rehabilitation of repentant Boko Haram insurgents.

The United States of America had also accused authorities in Nigeria of massive corruption and stifling of free speech in 2020, under President Buhari’s leadership, as reported by TopNaija.

The President is currently in London where he would be spending two weeks to enable him to undergo a medical checkup.

To express their displeasure at the medical trip, Omokri and a group of protesters decided to protest at the gate of the Nigeria House brandishing placards with different inscriptions.

The former presidential aide questioned the decision of President Buhari to have himself treated in London after reportedly failing to build a single hospital in Nigeria. “He left Nigeria on the day that doctors began their strike.

“He’s not building hospitals for people, yet he comes here to enjoy the best in a country that has law and order. Why can’t he do that in his country?” Omokri asked.

On Tuesday October 20, 2020, the Nigerian Army massacred innocent #EndSARS protesters. After Reno Omokri broke the story, the Nigerian Army accused him of spreading false news. Subsequently, evidence came to light via video that proved beyond reasonable doubt that Omokri’s story was true.

After Omokri’s revelations, prominent world citizens, including Hillary Clinton, Rihanna and Burna Boy, joined in the condemnation of the massacre.

Meanwhile, Omoyele Sowore, convener of the #RevolutionNow Movement, posted a video of a man holding a placard that reads “Buhari must go! #OccupyNigeria”.

The man, who wore a #RevolutionNow beret, said: “Buhari go home! We are outside here in Abuja house. Nigerians are calling on Buhari to go home.
