'Reconciliation is far from ongoing Rivers State political crisis' — Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose says the disagreement between the Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike can no longer be resolved.

Topnaija.ng reports that Fayose made this known when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics,

Fayose said the matter has crossed the Rubicon, describing it as unfortunate.

According to him, there have been a breach of trust between both gladiators.

“This crisis is unfortunate, very, very unfortunate. I believe that the matter has crossed the Rubicon.”

“It has gone far. Breach of trust even if you want to resolve this matter, where do you put the trust part? I rather want to believe that it is too far in the day to call for reconciliation,” he said.

Fayose reacts to Wike’s threat to PDP governor who plan to meddle in Rivers State party dynamics

Further speaking, Fayose suggested that governors who fully control their states have nothing to fear from Wike’s threats.

Topnaija.ng recalls that Wike issued a warning to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors, urging them to stay away from party affairs in Rivers State and cautioning against efforts to back Rivers Governor Sim Fubara in taking over party structures in the state.

Reacting to the threat Fayose said “As a sitting Governor, when I was Governor of Ekiti State, I had nothing to hide,” Fayose remarked. “If a governor or former governor says he will put fire in my state, it is either I am not strong at home or I have lost control in my state.”

Fayose emphasized that a governor’s confidence in managing their state prevents outside interference.

“You can tell my position. The moment you have a grip of your state, you have nothing to fear,” he asserted. “But the moment you don’t have a grip of your state, obviously you have a lot in your hand to face.”
