Reason For Kanye West’s Social Media Account Restriction
Two of the social media giants, Instagram and Twitter have restricted American rapper, Kanye West’s accounts.
The American rap artist, Kanye West’s accounts were placed under restriction after he shared a post against the media’s policy.
TopNaija understands that Kanye West, AKA Ye first took to his Instagram page on Friday, October 7, before the ban, and shared a post targeting the Jewish community.
This follows after he made a controversial appearance at the Yeezy fashion show in Paris with popular conservative media personality, Candace Owens.
On the runway, the duo donned a shirt with the words, “WHITE LIVES MATTER” inscribed on it.
This of course caused quite a stir on social media to the extent that it got Sean Combs, popularly known as Puff Daddy, out of his comfort zone.
Reacting to the little write-up on Friday, puff Daddy warned the rapper to desist from hurting the Black Community with his public statements.
In his response, West said;
“I will use Combs as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me. I told you this is war. Now gone get you some business.”
As Kanye’s statement was against Instagram’s policy, the content was deleted from the rapper’s account which placed him on a restriction.
This was confirmed by a Meta Spokesperson
Kanye, upon realizing the restriction, took to his Twitter handle to slam Meta CEO, Mark Zukerberg for kicking him off of his platform.
As that wasn’t enough, Ye further doubled down on his claims, stating that he could not be anti-semitic because “black people are actually Jew also.”
“The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jews also. You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda,” the rapper wrote.
The post has since been deleted for violating Twitter’s policy.
A Twitter spokesperson told ABC News on Sunday, October 9, that Ye’s account has also been locked due to the said violation.
