Reality Star Tacha begs Elon Musk to restore her Twitter Verification Badge
Reality TV star and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has expressed her distress on social media after her Twitter verification badge was removed by the platform.
Tacha’s anger follows CEO Elon Musk’s announcement of a widespread removal of blue ticks from the accounts of public figures, including celebrities, journalists, athletes, and politicians.
In a tearful video shared on her social media accounts, Tacha pleaded with Musk to restore her verification badge, stating that she feels like “nobody” without it.
She expressed her disappointment and frustration, saying that the verification badge is a symbol of her status and credibility as a public figure, and losing it has had a negative impact on her online presence.
Tacha, who gained fame after participating in the Nigerian reality TV show Big Brother Naija, has since built a successful brand as an entrepreneur and social media influencer, with a large following on platforms like Twitter.
The verification badge, which is a blue tick displayed on verified accounts, is meant to signify the authenticity and legitimacy of the account holder, and is often seen as a mark of prestige and importance in the online community.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk had earlier announced that the platform would be removing verification badges from the accounts of most public figures as part of a wider effort to improve the verification process and ensure that the badges are only given to accounts that meet the company’s criteria.
The move has resulted in mixed reactions from users, with some supporting the decision as a means to tackle issues such as impersonation and misinformation, while others, like Tacha, are disappointed and distressed by the removal of their verification badges.
