Real Madrid continue to monitor Alejandro Garnacho situation

Real Madrid is reportedly keeping an eye on Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, despite the young winger recently signing a new five-year deal with the Old Trafford club.

Alejandro Garnacho enjoyed a breakout season with United, notching up four goals and nine assists, but he was sidelined by an injury in February and only returned to training last week. United is now hoping that the 18-year-old will be able to make an impact in their upcoming Premier League clash with Brighton on Thursday.

Although Alejandro Garnacho has committed to United until 2028, Real Madrid has been a long-standing admirer of the young Argentinean. According to Spanish publication Defensa Central, Garnacho’s new contract includes a buyout clause of £87million (€100million). This has reportedly not deterred Real, who continue to monitor the winger’s progress.

If Garnacho continues to develop at his current rate, Real would consider signing him, the report claimed. Furthermore, his release clause is said to be “very manageable” for the La Liga giants, provided the player meets the “enormous” expectation placed on him.

For now, Alejandro Garnacho appears content at Old Trafford and was recently quoted as thanking United’s manager and coaches for their support during his breakout season.

It remains to be seen if Real will make a move for Garnacho, but if they do, it could be for a significant sum given the reported release clause in his contract.
