Rasmus Hojlund to Old Trafford: Trainer teases fans
Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United is one transfer to pay attention to as the summer businesses continue for European sides ahead of next season.
Speculation surrounding Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund’s future has intensified, with his personal trainer contributing to the rumors amid reports linking him to a potential move to Manchester United.
Manchester United has been actively searching for a permanent replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford and has recently shown a keen interest in Rasmus Hojlund.
The club had previously pursued Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, but Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations have constrained their transfer budget. As a result, United has turned its attention to more affordable targets, including Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani and Atalanta’s Hojlund.
According to The Telegraph, Manchester United is ready to make Rasmus Hojlund their primary target and is reportedly preparing an opening bid for the 20-year-old Denmark international. The club is believed to be willing to offer £50 million for the talented striker, who scored 10 goals in 34 appearances for Atalanta last season after joining from Austrian side Sturm Graz.
Manchester Evening News has also reported that United manager Erik ten Hag has engaged in multiple video calls with Hojlund, discussing a potential move to Old Trafford.
In an intriguing twist, there have been suggestions of a possible swap deal involving Mason Greenwood. The MEN claimed that United has decided to loan out Greenwood and could include him in a potential exchange for Hojlund.
Greenwood is currently serving a suspension, and the club is yet to determine whether he will return to the squad for pre-season preparations.
While Atalanta has expressed interest in signing Greenwood, discussions have taken place between officials from the Italian club and United’s football director, John Murtough, regarding a potential swap deal. Such an arrangement would see United secure Hojlund on a permanent basis while sending Greenwood on loan to Atalanta in Serie A.
Adding fuel to the speculation, Hojlund’s personal trainer posted a training video of the striker on their Instagram story, accompanied by the caption, “We ready for what’s next,” followed by the shushing face emoji.
The trainer made sure to tag Hojlund in the post, further amplifying rumors of a potential move to Old Trafford this summer.
As the transfer saga unfolds, Manchester United continues its pursuit of strengthening the squad for the upcoming season. With Hojlund emerging as a promising target and various potential deal permutations being discussed, fans eagerly await further developments as the transfer window progresses.
