Rashford to stay at Manchester United

Marcus Rashford has resolved to remain at Manchester United and fight for his place under manager Erik Ten Hag, who has been confirmed to continue as the club’s manager for the upcoming season.

Despite a disappointing campaign that saw United finish 8th in the Premier League, Ten Hag secured his position with a crucial FA Cup final victory over Manchester City, ensuring silverware and a spot in European competition. This triumph was pivotal in convincing the club’s hierarchy to retain the Dutchman for another season.

The Red Devils are set to undergo a significant overhaul of their first-team squad this summer, with many underperforming players facing uncertain futures. Reports indicate that only three current players are deemed ‘untouchable,’ and the club is open to offers for the rest.

Among those rumored to be on the chopping block is Rashford, whose performance last season fell short of expectations.

However, according to The Sun, the 26-year-old forward is determined to stay at Old Trafford and mend his strained relationship with Ten Hag.

A source close to Rashford revealed,

“Marcus knows one thing with Ten Hag and that is that he really rates him. He knows he’s underperformed big time but has been telling his friends that he’s coming back strong this next season. He knows a new manager could have come in and got rid of him. He doesn’t want to go anywhere and wants to get back to his best.”

Rashford’s poor form, which saw him score just eight goals last season, has been a point of contention. His troubles were compounded when footage emerged of him leaving a nightclub in the early hours before a crucial FA Cup tie against Newport County. The incident led to a two-week wage fine and seemingly marked the start of his decline.

His struggles continued as England manager Gareth Southgate omitted him from the Euro 2024 squad, a decision that reportedly left Rashford ‘shocked.’ Despite this setback, he is now focused on redeeming himself and proving his worth to Ten Hag and the United faithful.

United appear willing to give Rashford one final chance to rediscover his form. Should he fail to impress next season, a departure from the club seems inevitable.
