Rapper, Ice Prince finally speaks on his release from police custody

Popular Nigerian singer, Panshak Zamani, known by the stage name Ice Prince has broken silence after being released from police custody.

The hip-hop artiste was, on September 2nd, arrested by the police for the alleged abduction and assault of a police officer.

Ice Prince was arraigned in the Magistrate Court in Ajah, Lagos State, and pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him.

However, in a recent event, the singer took to his Twitter page to celebrate his release from police custody.

He tweeted;

Freedom is priceless”

What led to his arrest?

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Spokesperson revealed that Ice Prince was stopped around 3am on the aforementioned date for driving his vehicle without license plates.

Ice Prince then agreed to follow the officer to the station, only for him to drive the policeman to an unknown location, and threaten to throw him into a river.

The statement read;

“At 3am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates.

“He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today”.

After pleading not guilty to the charges, the Magistrate, Taiwo Oyaniyi granted the musician bail in the sum of N500,000 and demanded the provision of two sureties.
