PSG Manager, Christophe Galtier On Tension In The Squad

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager, Christophe Galtier, has refuted claims of dressing room tensions within the team, stating that the squad is united. This comes after PSG struggled to defeat 15th-placed Brest on Saturday in Ligue 1, with Kylian Mbappe scoring a late goal to secure all three points for the reigning champions.

Despite creating more chances than the home side, PSG appeared disjointed and lacked cohesion during the game. In recent weeks, reports of conflict in the dressing room have emerged, with senior squad members allegedly questioning Galtier’s decision-making.

However, Galtier dismissed these reports, stating that the team is fully committed to winning their 11th Ligue 1 title. Speaking to Canal+ after the game, he said, “There is unity, have no doubt about this unity. I am a coach who will fight with his team to get this 11th title.”

This latest victory sees PSG move within one point of league leaders Lille, who have a game in hand. However, the manner of the win has raised concerns amongst fans and pundits alike, with many questioning the team’s ability to compete against Europe’s elite in the upcoming Champions League fixtures.

PSG exited the Champions League to a 3-0 defeat on aggregate to Bayern Munich in the round of 16 of the Champions League last week, and Galtier will be hoping that his side can rediscover their form and secure a positive result against the Spanish giants. With dressing room tensions reportedly simmering, the pressure will be on Galtier to unite his squad and deliver success on both domestic and European fronts.
