PSG holds talks with Marcus Rashford’s Representatives

Manchester United’s striker problem could further intensify as French club, PSG are reported to have held talks with Marcus Rashford’s representatives going into the new season.

The news comes courtesy of France’s sports newspaper, L’Equipe as they revealed the French champions have one eye over a move for the United striker as they have held talks with his representatives.

The sports outlet reveal negotiations between both parties were quite positive.

ESPN also corroborated the report, stating Paris Saint Germain are yet to hold official discussions with the Old Trafford side even though positive talks were held with the Rashford camp.

They also report that Manchester United could be tempted to ask for a high fee if they are to sanction Marcus Rashford’s move away from the club.

Though the 24 year old has one year left in his contract with Man United, the Red Devils stand the advantage as there is a clause in Marcus Rashford’s contract that could trigger an extension of a year to stall PSG.

The reports follow a press conference given by PSG coach, Christophe Galtier who stated he needs a new forward going into the season but refused to disclose who the club was going after.

Galtier said:

“We wish the arrival of a new striker,

“The club is working, I am in direct contact with [football advisor] Luis Campos. Luis is in direct contact with our president [Nasser Al-Khelaifi]. We must not make any mistakes. Will this player arrive? We don’t know. It has to be a real plus.” The PSG boss said.

“The club is working in this direction. But whether by the end of the transfer window an offensive player will arrive I cannot confirm it but the club is working hard on this position.”

Man United could very much stand at a loss should they sanction the exit of Marcus Rashford without having a proper replacement at the club.
