Protect the Integrity of the Premier League—Glenn Hoddle warns Liverpool

Liverpool’s poor start to the Premier League season has raised a lot of concerns for fans of the English first division league as fears that Manchester City could run away with the title this time around than it be a challenge sounds very much plausible.

For former England coach, Glenn Hoddle, he wants the integrity of the Premier League’s imagine maintained and thus has warned Liverpool not to let Manchester City to further open up gaps in the title race.

Glenn Hoddle stated this in response to the poor start of the Reds’ season that has seen the team winless in their first 3 games of the campaign, with all 2 ending in a draw, and a loss to Manchester United being the first.

Manchester City on the other hand have 7 points from their opening 3 games with Liverpool only having 2 points from 3 games.

At this point, only Arsenal and Tottenham seem to be challenging the Etihad side for the top of the table with Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United only a shadow of what they once were.

Hoddle said:

“It is not as good as they’d like it to be – they have got a lot of injuries at the moment with key players out.

“It is very difficult to set a standard and keep it, but they’ve had to do it in back-to-back seasons. They had the two domestic cups they won, but all is not well there.

“I think they’ve got enough quality, on and off the pitch, with Klopp and his experience, to turn it back around. But they cannot let City get five, six points away from them so early in the season.”
