President Tinubu restructures media, communications team

President Bola Tinubu has approved a restructuring of the State House media and communications team, re-designating the roles of two recently appointed officials to improve the efficiency of the administration’s communication strategy.

This announcement was made by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on November 18, 2024.

The restructuring involves the following updates:

1. Mr. Sunday Dare: Formerly Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, he is now Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications.

2. Mr. Daniel Bwala: Previously announced as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication, he now serves as Special Adviser, Policy Communication.

These adjustments complement the existing position of Special Adviser, Information and Strategy, held by Mr. Bayo Onanuga.

The new arrangement underscores the administration’s decision to adopt a collective spokesperson model, where all three Special Advisers will jointly communicate government policies, decisions, and engagements.

The restructuring is aimed at ensuring clear, consistent, and effective dissemination of information from the presidency to the public.
