President Bola Tinubu has expressed his sorrow over the passing of Chief Oluremi Atanda, the former Chairman of the Old Oyo State Civil Service Commission.

In a statement released by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu conveyed his deepest sympathies to the Atanda family during this difficult time.

Tinubu highlighted Chief Atanda’s significant contributions to education, noting that he established the esteemed Atanda Continuing Education Centre. This institution played a crucial role in preparing numerous students from the South West of Nigeria for university during the 1970s and 1980s.

“President Tinubu mourned the loss of the esteemed educationist and administrator who made substantial contributions to the development of Old Oyo State and the nation,” the statement read.

Additionally, Tinubu extended his condolences to the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, and the people of Iwoland. He offered prayers for the peaceful repose of Chief Atanda’s soul.
