President Bola Tinubu has given his stamp of approval to the appointment of a fresh management team for the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

In this restructuring, Mr. Gbenga Alade has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer of AMCON, taking over from Ahmed Kuru, who commenced his tenure in August 2015.

The announcement of these appointments was made by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in a statement released on Thursday, Feb. 22.

President Tinubu also designated three other executive directors, subject to confirmation by the Nigerian Senate. These appointees include Aminu Ismail, Adeshola Lamidi, and Lucky Adaghe.

Ngelale, in the statement, conveyed the President’s expectations, stating that Tinubu anticipates;

“unwavering commitment, professionalism, and diligence from the new appointees to ensure that AMCON’s operations are more efficient, transparent, and aligned with his resolve to cleanse the nation’s financial system to optimize value and bolster investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.”
