President inaugurates 76 housing units in Kogi state.
76 housing units have been inaugurated by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday and these are specifically for Nigerian citizens in Lokoja, Kogi state.
The housing units were made up of 48 units of 2-bedrooms; 24 units of 3-bedrooms, and 4 units of 1-bedroom apartments, all built by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing.
Buhari, described the project as a “fulfilment of the change that APC promised Nigerians in 2015″, during the inauguration.
Ramatu Aliyu, Honorable Minister of State for FCT, who represented the president, expressed optimism that, government would do more for Nigerians if more lands are provided
“The progressive ideals of our government seeks to achieve one primary objective, which is to improve the human condition,” she said
Also, the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, said that the federal government had delivered similar projects in 34 states with the support of the state governors, who provided the land.
“We have offered these housing units to members of the general public in a non-discriminatory way, by opening the national housing portal to ensure that interested individuals are not inhibited by any artificial obstacles.
“Allocations will be made on the basis of those who apply and pay on first come first served basis,” Fashola added.
