The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has shown sadness over the death of Zamfara State lawmaker, Muhammad Ahmad, who was murdered by bandits while driving to Kano along Shema-Funtua road, Katsina State.

Buhari expressed his feelings in a condolence message by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Thursday in Abuja.

He also reaffirmed his order to law-enforcement agencies to deal severely with anti-social elements keen on causing harm to innocent citizens and creating fear under whatever disguise.

President Buhari prayed that Allah accepts the soul of the departed and also grant his family strength to bear the loss.

He said, “I am deeply shocked by the tragic circumstances in which the lawmaker died while driving his son to Kano to board a flight.

“May Allah forgive the soul of the deceased and grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
