President Muhammadu Buhari has decorated the new Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Farouk Yahaya.

Buhari did the exercise while chairing over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting in State House, Abuja on Wednesday, in the presence of other officials.
The President appointed Yahaya as the new COAS on May 27, 2021, barely six days after the previous Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 officers lost their lives in a plane crash in Abuja.
The decoration Yahaya by President Buhari comes a week after the House of Representatives confirmed his appointment as Chief of Army Staff.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, shared pictures of the event on Facebook titled, “President Buhari Decorates New Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya and presides over Federal Executive Council Meeting in State House on 7th July 2021”.
