Premier League star completes nationality switch to Ghana from England

Tariq Lamptey has reportedly completed his switch from England to Ghana.

Ahead of the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar and the Nations Cup qualifiers, the 21-year-old will join the black stars.

The Brighton & Hove Albion star has represented England at the U-18, U-19, U-20, and U-21 levels.

Ghanaweb revealed that “the Ghana Football Association have held fruitful discussions with Tariq Lamptey ahead of his nationality switch from England to play for Ghana.”

The right wing-back was born in London but has Ghanaian roots.

Lamptey recently declined an invite to England’s U-21 team and decided to represent Ghana.
