Referees for 2024/25 Premier League opening weekend revealed

The referees for the opening weekend have been appointed, setting the stage for some high-stakes encounters, drama and controversy. The action begins on Friday night with Manchester United hosting Fulham at Old Trafford, where Robert Jones will take charge, backed by VAR support from Jarred Gillett.

However, all eyes will be on Sunday’s marquee clash at Stamford Bridge, where Anthony Taylor has been assigned to referee the high-octane fixture between Chelsea and reigning champions Manchester City.
