Premier League Predictions For The Weekend
Premier League football is back again for one last ride before the Qatar World Cup season comes into the middle of things, hence we analyzed former Manchester United player, Patrice Evra’s predictions for the weekend fixtures while providing our own observations into some of the games.
Patrice Evra, who at one time served as a vice-captain for Manchester United, has made predictions for this weekend’s Premier League match-day 16.
On Saturday night, Newcastle United will welcome Chelsea at St. James’ Park, and on Saturday afternoon, Manchester City will play Brentford at Etihad.
On Saturday night, Wolves will play host to Arsenal, and on Sunday night, Fulham will host Manchester United.
Providing his prediction, Evra was quoted as expecting a:
Manchester City 3-0 Brentford victory,
Bournemouth 1-1 Everton draw,
Liverpool 2-1 Southampton victory for the Reds,
Nottingham Forest 0-2 Crystal Palace victory for Palace,
Tottenham 2-0 Leeds United triumph for Spurs against a Jesse Marsch Leeds,
West Ham 1-2 Leicester City, another loss for West Ham,
Newcastle 3-1 Chelsea, a defeat for Chelsea against the new big boys in town,
Wolves 1-3 Arsenal, another triumph for the Gunners over the weekend in their title race with Manchester City,
Brighton 1-2 Aston Villa, a second consecutive victory for Villa and Brighton’s first defeat in a number of games played so far, and
Fulham 0-2 Man Utd for a routine victory for the Red Devils.
However, for TopNaija’s premier league predictions, we agree it will be another routine victory for a Manchester City side against Brentford, but we suspect it won’t be with a clean sheet for City goalie, Ederson Morales.
TopNaija predicts it will be a 4-2 win for Manchester City with Brentford proving deadly at set piece and on the counter.
For Bournemouth vs. Everton, it will be a win for a Frank Lampard side rather than a draw, with a 0-2 score line being appropriate.
Liverpool vs. Southampton at Anfield could go either way as seen from how inconsistent the Reds are this season. It could end in a 2-2 draw which the Reds were lucky to escape against Tottenham Hotspur or a 2-0 victory for the Reds should they keep their acts in defence together.
Nottingham Forest vs. Crystal Palace could see a draw or a victory dependent on how Patrick Vieira’s side turns up on the day, but we foresee a shock 2-2 score line to favor Forest along the way with Palace needing to come back into the game twice.
Tottenham vs. Leeds United could see yet another defeat for an Antonio Conte side this season after the Liverpool game to see out a 0-1 score line in favor of Jesse Marsch.
West Ham vs. Leicester City, we have to agree with Patrice Evra’s prediction of a 1-2 score line for Leicester and Brendan Rodgers.
Newcastle United vs. Chelsea is where we would disagree with the Frenchman. Newcastle may have just joined the big boys table but they are not going to start rubbing shoulders with Chelsea and handing them 3 consecutive defeats yet. We predict a 1-2 victory in favor of Chelsea to turn the tides around.
Wolves vs. Arsenal is one of those banana slips in the premier league, and in our prediction, we foresee a draw with Wolves scoring a late equalizer against Arsenal just before they could see out a 0-1 victory, to force a 1-1 score line.
Brighton vs. Aston Villa is the game that gives new Villa manager, Unai Emery a proper welcome into the premier league, with a 3-0 score line at the Amex stadium.
Fulham vs. Manchester United, there is no way the Old Trafford side would want to lose a consecutive premier league match again under Erik ten Hag, in essence we expect a scrambled 0-1 or 1-2 win for the Old Trafford side.
