Premier League Predictions For The Weekend

With the Christmas and Boxing day Premier League fixtures done, we set our predictions for yet another premier league weekend of games as match week 20 gears into swing.

The games begin roughly at the end of the year, cross over into 2024 with January 1st and 2nd fixtures.

For the weekend games, Luton Town 12:30 Chelsea get themselves into hostile territory on Saturday 30th December, at Lunch time kickoff, with the Blues taking a visit to Kenilworth Road to continue from where they stopped in mid-week after beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Luton Town in recent games have started to build in the confidence and right now, would be looking to force themselves into premier league safety, hence our predictions for this game may take a turn coat.

On paper, Chelsea stand the favorites, but on the pitch, Luton Town looks to have a high ground to frustrate the Blues. However, we would believe the Blues will force out a 0-2 win away.

Aston Villa 15:00 Burnley is that game that Unai Emery will be licking his lips for after the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Not to write off Vincent Kompany’s side, but right now, the Clarets are that side every attacking team wants to face. We predict a 4-0 win at Villa Park for Aston Villa.

Crystal Palace 15:00 Brentford gets themselves into the narrative, dragging Palace into another consecutive London derby.

Tough to predict but in our premier league predictions, we believe the Eagles have the higher ground at home at Selhurst Park. We predict a 2-1 win or a 3-1 win for Crystal Palace.

Manchester City 15:00 Sheffield United is a game that Pep Guardiola will be looking to get back into premier league title conversation, and with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland set to return, the confidence drives the morale for City.

However, in our premier league predictions, we will create a stir by saying this fixture might be the first goal-less draw of Saturday. A 0-0 prediction is what we see, but going on paper, a 3-0 win is not far out of reach for Manchester City.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 15:00 Everton comes in quick and sounds a warning for the Toffees who are reminded not to feel all too safe at 17, especially with Luton Town knocking at their door for that spot.

After consecutive defeats to Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, Sean Dyche will be looking to return to winning ways as soon as possible as they stand 1 point above the relegation zone.

In our premier league predictions however, we see Gary O’Neil’s Wolves side coming out on top with a 2-1 win.

Nottingham Forest 17:30 Manchester United brings the Red Devils into hostilities on away ground at the City Stadium.

When inconsistency is talked about, Manchester United should be a team to picture, and rightly so, no one knows what this game will give fans. Forest have a new boss, so that new manager bounce could be expected, and of course, Manchester United’s boss, Erik ten Hag is underfire, hence another connundrum.

For the sake of Manchester United’s past glory, our premier league predictions has them as favorites with a 0-1 win against Nottingham Forest.

Sunday 31st December continues the match week 20 run of games with Fulham 14:00 Arsenal getting into hostile tides.

Having dropped from top spot, Arsenal will be eager to regain the position back with Manchester City probably being on their heels at them.

Fulham’s form however has been quite chaotic so far, with the Cottagers winless in their last two games, which toughens things for Arsenal all the more as Fulham will have a lot to prove to its fans at Cravens Cottage.

The first leg, they both played a 2-2 draw at the Emirates, and with Fulham having the home advantage, Arsenal will have to wake up from its slumber to get maximum points against Marco Silva.

We predict a 1-2 win for Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspur 14:00 Bournemouth ends Sunday’s fixture schedule.

We predict a 2-2 draw for Spurs.

Match week 20 crosses over into the new year, starting from the late night Monday 1st January kickoff that brings old friends Liverpool 20:00 Newcastle United again into hostile front.

The Reds avoided certain defeat to Newcastle in the early stages of the competition after suffering a Virgil van Dijk red card in the first half. It took the introduction of Darwin Nunez to claim all 3 points for Liverpool and save Jurgen Klopp’s men from the onslaught of the Magpies.

That in mind and with premier league title challenge in front of their mind, Liverpool will take this game carefully. We predict a 3-1 win for the Reds in our premier league predictions.

Tuesday 2nd January ends match week 20, with West Ham United 19:30 Brighton and Hove Albion settling their scores at the London Stadium.

West Ham ended match week 19 as the Gunners’ enemies, while Brighton did same to Arsenal’s North London counterpart, Tottenham. It is fitting that both sides end match week 20 playing against each other.

We predict a 2-2 draw for both teams or a West Ham win of 2-1.
