Premier League predictions for Matchday 18 Fixtures

The 2024/25 Premier League season halves itself tonight ahead of the matchday 18 fixtures, and here goes our predictions for the run-ins.

The games kicking off with Manchester City vs Everton at 1:30 PM (WAT), will give fans a Boxing Day entertainment as Pep Guardiola’s struggling side hosts their Merseyside visitors at the Etihad. A very tough one to predict seeing how desperate Manchester City will be heading into this clash for a win and how Everton have proven themselves stubborn against bigger opponents.

We predict a 2-0 win however for the Cityzens.

Premier League predictions for Matchday 17 Weekend

“Don’t believe the narratives on Guardiola” — Maresca warns

Bournemouth versus Crystal Palace follows soon after with the Cherries looking to build on to last weekend’s 0-3 triumph at Old Trafford. With Bournemouth boasting a strong home form this season, we have in our Premier League predictions, a Bournemouth 2-1 win at the Vitality Stadium.

Chelsea versus Fulham is perhaps one of those games the Blues would have wanted to avoid a week after failing to score a goal against Everton. This fixture is a West London derby that holds its meaning amongst locals of the Fulham area of West London, hence a tie that has bragging rights at stake.

However, we see Chelsea scaling through courtesy of a 2-1 win.

Newcastle United versus Aston Villa is one of those fixtures that has a lot of promise heading into kick-off. Both sides are evenly matched and perhaps in consecutive seasons, experienced a taste of Champions League football. Hence, in our Premier League predictions, we think this fixture will spark some goal-fest for a 3-3 draw.

Nottingham Forest versus Tottenham Hotspur is for certain a game that Spurs cannot afford to lose following the 6-3 goal-fest versus Liverpool. We predict a 1-3 win for the visitors to calm Forest’s steam.

Southampton versus West Ham United looks evenly matched on paper form but on closer look, has the Hammers as supposed favorites. However, in our Premier League predictions, we would go with a 2-2 draw between both teams.

Wolverhampton Wanderers versus Manchester United surely will not give us a Manchester United loss in back-to-back games. But an underlining narrative is Wolves’ current form and position on the league table. So while United will want to move on from their 0-3 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend, Wolves will want to step out from the relegation zones heading into the new year.

We predict a likely 3-3 draw between both teams.

Liverpool versus Leicester City at 9 PM (WAT) has everything in favor of the hosts. However, if there is any lesson Liverpool will need to learn, it is that the 2018/19 fixture saw the Reds failing to get maximum points off the Foxes. A result which ended up costing Liverpool that season. Being favorites mean little especially when a former Manchester United icon is at the helm of Leicester. We predict a 2-1 struggle for the Reds.

Friday 27th December rounds up matchday 18 with Brighton and Hove Albion facing off Brentford. Tough game to predict, but a Brighton win appears feasible for a home win. We predict a 3-2 win for the home team.

Arsenal versus Ipswich Town could either be a rout or a struggle for the Gunners. Either way, we have an Arsenal win in our Premier League predictions, with a 3-1 win likely.
