Premier League predictions for Matchday 16 Weekend

Another crucial Premier League matchday returns this weekend with some cracking fixtures ripe for some chaotic predictions.

The games kickoff on the typical Saturday 4 PM time with Arsenal engaging in hostilities versus an Everton side Liverpool were fortunate to avoid last weekend. In our predictions, we do not see the Toffees stopping Arsenal’s premier league ambitions. Tough as it may be, we see the Gunners running off with a 2-0 win.

While the Gunners battle their Merseyside visitors, Liverpool will act as Merseyside host to a London visitor as Fulham pays the Reds a visit at Anfield. The Cottagers are well and truly on form to poise some level of surprise to level the Premier League title gap this weekend, but after the mediocre performance by Liverpool in mid-week, the Reds will not want to have a repeat of the Girona event. We predict a 2-0 win for Liverpool.

Newcastle United versus Leicester City is a game that looks like a banana peel for the Magpies this weekend, especially at the fabled ground of the Saint James’ Park. Unlike their clutch goal against Liverpool a week ago, we do not think Newcastle will be twice as lucky to get something from this game. Our Premier League predictions has Leicester City running off with a 2-3 win for Ruud van Nistelrooy’s ambitions.

Wolverhampton Wanderers versus Ipswich Town looks like a game that could go either sides or take different narratives. However, we think this could end in a 2-2 draw between both sides.

Nottingham Forest earned a remarkable victory last weekend against Manchester United, but with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa coming into town, the trick of having lightning strike twice in same spot seems cunning. In our Premier League predictions, we see Aston Villa edging it in a 1-2 win.

Sunday 15th December continues the chaotic weekend with Brighton and Hove Albion setting its sight on visitors Crystal Palace for 2 PM kickoff.

The Seagulls were dealt with some level of surprise last weekend by Leicester City. Currently, Brighton are without a win in their last two fixtures which sparks a precedent for a dwindling form or a drop of confidence. We see that continuing this weekend with a 1-2 Crystal Palace win.

Manchester City versus Manchester United brings us a Manchester derby that could for the first time not go the predictable route many have seen it go in recent times. For one, Pep Guardiola’s City are a side that pales in reflection to what we know, and for another, Ruben Amorim edged past this very Pep Guardiola team in the Champions League while with Sporting Lisbon.

Our Premier League predictions has this going for a 2-2 draw between the Manchester teams. However, it is not out of the ordinary to predict a Manchester United win in a 1-2 win at the Etihad to shake the weekend.

Chelsea versus Brentford stands a fixture that could be a banana peel for the Blues considering Chelsea’s recent history against Brentford. However, we see the West London hosts edging it with a 2-1 win.

Southampton hosting Tottenham Hotspur at the Saint Mary’s is an opportunity for Spurs to bounce back and take what they believe is theirs—the three points. We predict a 1-3 win for the North London visitors.

Monday 16th December ends the matchday 16 games with Bournemouth hosting West Ham United at the Vitality Stadium. Judging by West Ham’s recent form this season, it is easier predicting a defeat for the Hammers, however, we think this narrative will be different. We predict a 1-2 win for the East Londoners.
