Poultry farmer murdered by gunmen in Ekiti [Photo]

A poultry farmer identified as Pastor Adesina, has been shot dead by suspected gunmen in Ekiti State.

According to a source, the poultry farmer, after finishing his work for the day, was attacked in his car by the assailants at Ago Aduloju, the outskirts of Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State on Wednesday, March 9.

“It appeared like the gunmen were waiting for him around where he parked his vehicle. Immediately they sighted him, they opened fire and he was hit in the head. The hoodlums fled the scene afterward, leaving him in a pool of blood,” the source added.

Sunday Abutu, Spokesperson of the State Police Command, also confirmed the incident, stating that security agents had begun investigation into the matter.

“A distress call was received yesterday (Wednesday) around 6.30 pm by the Odo Ado Police Division that a man was shot by two unidentified gunmen right in front of his poultry farm at the Ago Adeloju area,” the PPRO stated.

“A team of police personnel moved to the scene where the victim was met in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor. Investigation has commenced into the matter.”
