Breaking News

Reverend Father Faustinus Gundu, the Parish Priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jootar, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, has been reported dead.

There are conflicting reports from local sources regarding the cause of death of the priest.

While some sources suggest that he was struck by lightning, others recount a different version of events.

Witnesses claim that the priest, affectionately known as Albino, rushed out of his house during a rainstorm to retrieve a towel from the linen.

In a tragic turn of events, he slipped and fell, hitting his head on a hard surface.

Regrettably, he was alone at the time and had no immediate assistance.

He lay there, unconscious, throughout the rain.

When people eventually found him and attempted to render aid, it was already too late.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the Benue Command, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident but couldn’t definitively determine whether Father Faustinus Gundu had slumped and died or if he was struck by thunder.
