Police uncover hotel where teenagers are used as sex slaves in Anambra (photos)
The police has busted a hotel in Anambra where teenage girls are being used as sex slaves, and used for prostitution.
The Anambra state police command busted the hotel known as Gally Gally in Nkpor after receiving intelligent, and tips from residents that girls between the ages of 14 and 17 are allegedly being used for sex slavery, prostitution, and baby factories.
Confirming the crime, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, in a statement, stated that operatives raided the hotel and about about 35 teenage girls were rescued from the camp, and about four of them were said to be pregnant.
He said the police also arrested 3 people, namely, Mrs Ifeoma Uzo, age “F,” 35 yrs, Chidiebere Alaka, age “M,” 28 years old, and Nweke Chidiebere.
We recovered three pump action gun, seven cartridges and cash sum of Eight hundred and seventy seven thousand, five hundred naira (#877,500). The Suspects arrested are being interrogated with a view to eliciting information on their involvement and unmasking other gang members.” the statement read in part.
Tochukwu added that the police will hand over the victims to NAPTIP for the welfare and rehabilitation of the children.
