Police runs over Civilian in Edo State
Is it Police brutality or inhumanity against humanity when a civilian in Edo State gets rundown by a police vehicle?
A video is now trending on Twitter of a Police vehicle running over a civilian in Edo State after an interrogation goes wrong between both parties.
In a disturbing incident, a man was reportedly run over by a police vehicle in Ekpoma following a confrontation with officers from the local division. Witnesses on the scene claim that the incident unfolded after the police officers accosted the individual, intending to check his phone. The man refused, asserting that such an act would be unlawful. This refusal seemingly sparked a series of events that led to the tragic outcome.
Eyewitnesses state that the police officers, undeterred by the man’s objection, proceeded to seize his phone and subsequently handcuffed him. They then attempted to take him to their station. However, amidst the commotion, concerned passersby intervened, objecting to the police officers’ actions and demanding the man’s release.
During the heated exchange, the situation took a horrific turn. As the man lay on the ground, one of the police officers allegedly ran over him with their vehicle. Shocked and terrified, onlookers witnessed the officers quickly disembarking from the vehicle and hastily fleeing the scene, leaving the injured individual behind.
The incident has sparked outrage and raised serious questions about police conduct and brutality. Eyewitnesses immediately rushed to provide assistance to the victim, calling for urgent medical attention. Local authorities were also alerted to the scene to investigate the incident and ensure the victim’s well-being.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time, and it remains unclear why the police officers initially approached him or why they insisted on checking his phone. The exact motive behind the alleged assault is yet to be determined, and authorities are actively working to apprehend the officers involved in the incident.
Community members and human rights organizations have expressed their dismay and called for a thorough investigation into the matter. They demand that those responsible for the assault be held accountable for their actions, and measures be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Social media reacts on Twitter;
What do you anticipate when criminals are promoted to the positions of police commissioners and inspectors general? If the head is corrupt, the tail will be corrupt as well.
