Police Ready For Autopsy In The Davido’s Son Case

The police may perform an autopsy in light of the scandal surrounding the passing of Ifeanyi Adeleke, the three-year-old son of David Adeleke (Davido), Nigeria’s top hip-pop artist, and his wife, Chioma Rowland.

According to reports, a police autopsy will be performed to ascertain whether Ifeanyi died as a result of being drawn into a swimming pool at his father’s home in the Banana Island neighborhood of Lagos State.

Six out of eight domestic workers who were minding the late Ifeanyi Adeleke have been freed by the police.

Someone who was apparently close to the incident claims that although it is police policy to conduct an autopsy in such cases, they will refrain from doing so if the boy’s family objects.

“Though the family members are not saying anything yet because they are still in shock but until anybody says stop, the standard procedure is to conduct an autopsy and we are going to follow that procedure just like in any case of death.”

The source further stated that while the chef and nanny are still being held in custody, six of Davido’s eight domestic staff members who had been previously invited for questioning had been arrested.

According to what is being reported, Ifeanyi was taken out of the pool and hurried to the lagoon Hospital where the medical staff unsuccessfully attempted to revive him.

After leaving Lagoon Hospital, the boy was once more sent to Evercare Hospital, where he was later declared dead.

The two domestic staff of Davido are still being held, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command said:

“I spoke with the DPO and he said the nanny and the cook have been detained. Other domestic workers brought in for questioning were released.
