Police Arrest Man For Raping 60-year-old Woman On Her Farm In Edo

A middle-aged man has been apprehended by the Edo State Police Command, having confessed to raping a 6t0-year-old woman.

TopNaija understands that one Friday Igberase, 52 was arrested by the police after having forced himself on the victim, identified as Cathrina Ouke.

Confirming the crime, the Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Dankwara revealed that the suspect was arrested by the Uromi division of the State Command.

According to reports, the rapist forced his way with the Cathrina on her farm in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of the state.

According to the CP, the woman said that the 52-year-old suspect assaulted her on her farm in July, raped her, and threatened to kill her if she informed anybody.

“The victim also alleged that since the r*pe incident, she has been suffering from strange sickness.”

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, while Friday was arrested after he confessed to the crime.

The police boss announced that the case had been transferred to the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CIB), Benin.

He further disclosed that one David Orji, who allegedly raped one Favour Osariemen, at New Benin axis of Benin has also been arrested.
