Police arrest 25-year-old teacher for defiling 13-year-old student

A primary school teacher has been arrested by the police for having carnal knowledge with a 13-year-old student in Ogun State.

The 25-year-old primary school teacher, identified as Ayobami Oluwatobiloba Runsewe, was detained by men from the Ogun State Police Command on suspicion of defiling a 13-year-old girl in his class in the Ago Iwoye area of the state.

The suspect was apprehended on Thursday, May 19, after the minor’s mother filed a report with the Ago Iwoye police division.

In a statement released on Saturday, May 21, the command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect lured the victim to his residence in the Ayegbami area of Ago Iwoye after a school lesson at about 4:30 p.m. and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

According to Oyeyemi, “The blood-soaked pants of the victim was brought to the station as an evidence.“

He originally denied having anything to do with the victim during interrogation, but when confronted by the victim, he was unable to say anything more.
