Police arrest 19-year-old for killing his co-worker at construction site

A 19-year-old man has been arrested by the police for the murder of his colleague at a construction site in Enugu State.

The Enugu State Police have apprehended the young adult, identified as Onyemaechi Okorie after he allegedly killed a co-worker at a construction site at Independence Layout Enugu.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state Police Command, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement released, said the suspect was apprehended after the police received a report of the incident.

According to him, on receiving the report, operatives of the command serving in New Haven Police Division swung into action and arrested the suspect.

Ndukwe further revealed that during a preliminary investigation the suspect used a rod to hit the deceased on the head during an argument.

The victim was later rushed to the hospital for treatment but was confirmed dead by the doctor.
