Piers Morgan continues attack on Ten Hag for Ronaldo

British journalist and TV personality Piers Morgan is never one to forget a jab and once more, he throws another at Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag for his mistreatment of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Piers Morgan wasted no time throwing shots at Erik ten Hag after Cristiano Ronaldo once again stole the spotlight with his 901st career goal, this time in Portugal’s dramatic 2-1 win over Scotland. The legendary forward came off the bench to complete Portugal’s comeback, leaving fans wondering if Ten Hag’s decision to part ways with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was a major blunder.

Ronaldo, who was sold to Al Nassr following his fallout with the Dutch coach, has been lighting up both Saudi Arabia and the international stage, notching up goals with ease. Morgan, never shy about his admiration for the Portuguese star, took to social media to reignite the debate surrounding Ten Hag’s handling of the 39-year-old forward.

Posting a photo of himself with Ronaldo, Morgan sarcastically jabbed: “REMINDER: Erik Ten Hag drove @Cristiano out of Manchester United and said he wouldn’t lose any sleep over it. Methinks Erik may need an Ambien tonight.”

Ten Hag’s decision to offload Ronaldo raised eyebrows last season, as the forward was swiftly shipped to Al Nassr after a public falling-out. Now, with Ronaldo continuing to perform at an elite level and having bagged 50 goals in Saudi Arabia last season, the criticism of Ten Hag is resurfacing.

Meanwhile, Portugal coach Roberto Martinez praised Ronaldo’s continued influence, noting, “He’s an incredible player, an asset, not a dependency,” further emphasizing that the forward’s ability to find the back of the net remains invaluable.
