Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, made her debut appearance at the 2023 Oscars in Los Angeles, United States.

The soulful artist was nominated for the Best Original Song category for her collaboration on “Lift Me Up” with Rihanna, Ludwig Göransson, and Ryan Coogler.

Tems arrived at the Dolby Theatre dressed in a stunning white gown and was accompanied by her team and close associates.

Despite not winning the award, the singer’s presence on the global stage was a significant milestone in her career.

Tems rose to fame in 2020 with her hit single “Damages,” which garnered international recognition and critical acclaim. The singer’s soulful and unique voice has since earned her a growing fan base and collaborations with top artists in the music industry.

The songstress earned her first Grammy award in 2023 for her contribution to Future’s hit single ‘Wait For U’.

Tems’ vocals were sampled on the single that also features Canadian megastar rapper Drake.

The 65th grammy award hosted the world’s greatest artists at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 5.

Tems’ 27, is also the first non-mixed Nigerian female musician to win the prestigious award under the ‘Best Melodic Rap performance’ category.
