The meeting between the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and 10 governors of the party comes amid a number of challenges facing the ruling party. One of the key issues is the upcoming 2023 general elections, which the party is expected to contest fiercely to retain power.

The governors in attendance at the meeting are believed to include Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, among others.

It is not yet clear what the agenda of the meeting is, but it is expected that the party’s performance in recent elections, the need to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2023 polls, and other pressing issues affecting the party and the country will be discussed.

The National Working Committee (NWC) Hall of the party National Secretariat, where the meeting is taking place, has been a beehive of activity in recent weeks as the party prepares for its congresses and national convention, which are expected to take place later this year.

The APC, which came to power in 2015, has faced a number of challenges in recent years, including internal squabbles, defections, and criticism of its handling of the economy and security challenges in the country. However, the party remains the ruling party at the federal level and in a number of states, and is expected to mount a strong challenge in the 2023 elections.
