The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos State chapter has recently announced their endorsement of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office.

This endorsement came after an emergency meeting was held in Ikeja, where the leadership of the PFN reviewed the February 25 election and presented a common front for the upcoming March 11 governorship election.

Speaking on behalf of the PFN, Bishop Theophilus Ajose, the Director of Politics and Governance, stated that Governor Sanwo-Olu has done an excellent job in the last four years and has governed the state without any religious bias.

He further explained that the church in Lagos State had asked for a Christian governor, and Governor Sanwo-Olu has made Christians proud by being one of them and leading the state with excellence.

“The church is speaking with one voice that Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu deserves our support again. I call on all great church leaders across different religious divides – pentecostals, orthodox, OAIC, Muslims, religious and Christian organizations to support the gubernatorial candidacy of Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu,” Bishop Ajose said.

Apostle Enyinnaya Okwuonu, the PFN state chairman, added that while the PFN is not partisan, they have decided to endorse Sanwo-Olu for a second term because he deserves it to complete the good work he has started. He also emphasized that this gubernatorial election is not about any political party but about the candidate.

The PFN leadership also urged all Lagosians to come out and vote for the candidate of their choice in the upcoming election, as it is their civic duty to do so. They called for peaceful and violence-free elections and urged politicians to play by the rules and avoid any act that could cause unrest or destabilize the state.

In conclusion, the PFN’s endorsement of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second-term bid is a significant boost to his re-election campaign. With the support of religious leaders and their followers, the governor has a higher chance of winning the upcoming election and continuing his good work in Lagos State. It is now up to the people of Lagos to make their choice and exercise their right to vote for the candidate of their choice.
