Peter Obi criticizes proposed 114% Salary Increase for President and Governors

Adewale Giwa, the Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, has alleged that Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, is not genuinely pursuing the nullification of Bola Tinubu’s victory at the Presidential Election Tribunal.

In a statement, Pastor Giwa claimed that Obi’s presence at the tribunal is merely for show and that he never had a real chance in the last election. The cleric accused Obi of betraying his boss, Atiku Abubakar, who played a significant role in his rise to prominence. Pastor Giwa questioned Obi’s sincerity, pointing out that if he truly cared about Nigeria, he would have fought the battle within his own political party.

Referring to Proverbs 16:5, Pastor Giwa emphasized that God despises arrogance, pretense, and betrayal, adding that those who exhibit such qualities will be humbled. He further stated that his ministry holds all politicians accountable for the state of the nation.

In May, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal consolidated the petitions submitted by various political parties, including Peter Obi and the Labour Party. The court’s decision was announced by Justice Haruna Tsammani, the chairman of the five-man panel, during the presentation of the pre-hearing report and trial schedule.

Pastor Giwa also mentioned that his prophecy regarding a highly contested election between two elderly candidates came true. He asserted that Peter Obi, whom he referred to as a “social media presidential candidate,” was met with opposition when he shared his initial observations.

The pastor claimed that Obi’s supporters arranged meetings with pastors who misled them into believing in their victory.

Concluding his remarks, Pastor Giwa expressed his belief that Obi had become wealthy at the expense of the poor, highlighting the contrast between appearances and true intentions. He urged his audience not to waste their time on Obi’s actions, as God judges the heart rather than outward appearances.

While these statements reflect Pastor Giwa’s opinions, they have sparked debate and discussion among the public regarding Peter Obi’s role in the political landscape and his actions at the Presidential Election Tribunal.
