Peter, husband of late gospel singer, Osinachi reportedly escapes Kuje prison

Mr. Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu has reportedly escaped the Kuje prison in Abuja.

Recall that Peter Nwachukwu was previously charged with 23 counts of charges surrounding domestic violence, emotional abuse, culpable homicide. Peter during his court appearance on June 3rd, however, pleaded not guilty to any of the 23 count charges as he insisted that he didn’t kill his wife and that what killed his wife was cancer of the lungs.

The case was adjourned to June 16 and June 17, 2022, but until then, Peter was remanded at the Kuje prison.

In view of that, some terrorist group, identified as the Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP attacked the correctional facility and about 879 inmates were said to have escaped.

It was however disclosed that Peter Nwachukwu was one of them.

The man had escaped during the terror attack at the prison but wasn’t discovered until a roll call was carried out.

According to reports, a senior prison official had told Sahara Reporters that

“during our roll call yesterday, we discovered that the husband of the late gospel singer was missing.”
