Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has today undergone an emergency surgery for back issues according to a club statement that was released today.
The former Barcelona manager reportedly underwent the procedure in his home country of Spain, and is said to now be recovering.
Following the confirmation of the report by the club, Pep Guardiola stands to miss some Manchester City premier league games such as the tie away to Sheffield United and the tie at home to Fulham.
The 52-year-old however is set for a return after the September international break after full recovery from the surgery.
“Pep Guardiola has today undergone a routine operation on a back problem.
“Everyone at Manchester City wishes Pep a speedy recovery, and look forward to seeing him back in Manchester soon,” Man City’s press statement read.
This comes days after Pep Guardiola saw a very important win against rivals, Newcastle United in a 1-0 triumph at the Etihad.
