Pep Guardiola Giving Arsenal the Premier League on a Plata?

If anyone was quite the betting man, Saturday evening football between Manchester City and Everton would come as quite the shocker and disappointment considering how the Pep Guardiola side fell short of a win to close out 2022.

Manchester City in their chase for a proverbial third premier league in a row title, slumped to a stubborn Merseyside team that was not covered in Red in a 1-1 draw to harden things for the Spaniard and the Etihad team.

This of course would spell some controversy over Pep Guardiola nonchalantly giving up the title chase to rivals, Arsenal and fellow Spaniard Mikel Arteta.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has stated that his team’s failure to defeat Everton on Saturday was due to their defensive strategy.

For Guardiola’s team, Erling Haaland scored first, but Demarai Gray matched it with an incredible goal.

The outcome saw the champions lose ground on Arsenal before their trip to Brighton.

At the Amex, the Gunners ultimately prevailed 4-2 to take a seven-point lead into 2023.

“We played a real good game but they made a fantastic goal with the first shot on target they had.

“The result was not expected but this is football.

“Everton’s approach against us was different to Liverpool, they broke the rhythm but this is the Premier League. It is a strategy for the opponent. It is difficult against eight players who are in their 18-yard box all the time,” Guardiola said.
